I think it was last saturday that I went to Cesky Krumlov, which is a town in the South Bohemia. It was around 3 hours bus ride from Prague. Damn tiring!! Luckily I went with my mom that it wasn't that boring.
Before reaching Cesky Krumlov, we passed by Tabor, which is also one of the tourist spots in Czech Republic. Definitely making that as one of my "to go" places in Czech. And we passed by Ceske Budojevice. A place where they make beer.
As according my friend's description, yup, it was a very definitely a very small place. It's true that a day trip should be enough but our tickets for departure to Prague was at 4pm and so by the time we reached there, we only had like 4 hours to look around. And as expected, we missed out a lot of things, like going into the castle which was like the main highlight of the town. We saw pictures of the interior of the castle and damn do we regret for not going in.
Lucky thing we got to see the exterior of the castle. The whole place kinda reminded me of Switzerland somehow. With the river and hills, yeah, it definitely is very similar to Switzerland.
Wait, I think I forgot to describe the exterior of the castle. Basically, it's quite a normal castle except for the fact that it's PAINTED! Yup, that's right. When you look at them, you just kinda have this feeling like, "I guess, they don't have enough money that time to build real statues so they painted it." lol!! The really exterior part was painted so that the wall looks like it was covered with tiles. And when you enter the courtyard, you'll see those statue figures on the wall.
Seriously, we took lots of pictures on the bridge linking the castle to its garden. Superb view from there!! As it was like super high up, you'll get the full view of the town and the background the town was set into.
The Royal Gardens were very nice as well. All in all, it's a VERY NICE place. Will definitely visit again. And best thing was, my mom wasn't tired out so I guess, it was manageable for older people.
Conclusion was, the main attraction is the castle but as we really didn't get to see around the Old Town and all, I guess this conclusion shouldn't be the final one. Next time, I'll definitely buy the 7pm ticket.
