Sometimes I just can't understand why some people can just be so "thick-faced" a.k.a shameless, of course "shameless" would probably mean too strong.
Anyway, often times, when we borrowed something from someone, we know that that thing doesn't belong to us right? But many times, people can just prove that wrong. I mean, even if we do need to use a particular something for daily use and borrow it from someone, we know the courtesy of getting that certain thing ourselves as soon as possible right?
However, there's just this particular someone that I know that proves to me that not everyone thinks the same. First, she borrows, then she keeps, in the end it's hers. Fooh!!! Seriously, I've never met anyone so "muka tembok" as her. And she some more can go put on I'm-so-innocent kinda face. Argh...seriously....
Wedding Vows
Today is the Feast of the Holy Family for our catholic church. So, basically, today the whole mass will focus on the institution of family. Then there's this part where the priest asked the married couples to renew their marriage vows.
They were asked to recite the whole vows. Even though it was not asked of them, but you can see that all the couples were holding hands. First, the husbands said their vows. At this moment, I saw how the lovingly the husbands were looking at their wives. It was totally a very super sweet moment. Despite that they were standing in front of everyone, but it seemed that all that could see was their wives kinda thing. Then, the wives said their vows as well.
After that, our priest said that there was one thing left that he didn't ask them to do and that he had forgotten before and he felt grounded that time, and that was he said, "You may kiss your bride." Was so super sweet as you can see how the couples were like really just so loving.
Groom: I, (name), take you, (name), for my lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.
Bride: I, (name), take you, (name), for my lawful husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.

"If it could happen then, it would happen again" - unknown
After going to the Auschwitz Concentration Camp, I was really taken aback by the cruelty occured during World War II.
What can I say after visiting it? Well, first, of course, that I fell lucky to have been borned in the 21st century. After seeing what the Nazis did, for me, I felt that those times were really the downfall of the human age.
The concentration camp consisted of 3 camps - Auschwitz I, Birkenau, and Monowitz. We were brought only to Auschwitz and Birkenau. Auschwitz was the smallest of the camps as well as the first. Now, most of the buildings are turned into museums with displays of photos of the then-camp and some documents and artifacts of the Jews, including the belongings of the Jews that were executed there.
As we were following a guide, it was totally worth the money. Our guide was telling about lots and lots of history related to the camp, about the sufferings and the torture the prisoners had to endure.
In the first camp, we got to see the main gate of the whole camp where there's this sign saying "Arbeit Macht Frei" which means "Work makes one free" which of course was a big fat lie. Then, we got to see the photos taken by the Nazi soldiers. Some of them showing how the children were being led to the gas chambers. Sad really. Then, there was the spectacles, daily equipments used and the real standing camp and starvation camp, gas chamber etc.
In the second camp, we got to see a camp that's like 30 times bigger than the first one. But our tour was quite short here. We got to see the sanitary room, the unloading platform where the sorting took place and one of the two larger gas chambers and crematoriums.
And there's this memorium that says "For ever let this place be a cry of despair and a warning to humanity where the Nazis murdered about one and a half million men, women and chilren, mainly Jews from various countries of Europe."
I must say, after visiting this concentration camp, I'm totally stucked in the history related to the Holocaust. I found out a lot of things that are related, including Schindler's Factory which is in Krakow but I didn't get to visit it, the movie Schindler's List and the Anne Frank Museum (Adeline told me about it) which is in Amsterdam.

Krakow (Krakuff)
Spent four full days in Krakow and really had had a great time, partly because of friends there as well as the places that we went were really interesting.
First day, we went to Zakopane, which was a town in the mountains, 2 hours drive from Krakow by bus. And as expected of mountains, the temperature then was -16 degrees Celcius. So we were really struggling as the wind was strong and it was snowing rather heavily. It was a very pretty place. Went there with Terri and two other friends with Krakow. Had a great time shopping there as everything was relatively cheap. Took the tram up to the top to a plateau overseeing the whole landscape but unfortunately it was too misty that we couldn't see anything. But it was really pretty in the pictures. So definitely recommend the ride up.
Second day, we went to the Salt Mine which was half an hour away from Krakow by the public bus. Despite the cold weather outside, the temperature inside the mine was constant at 14 degree celcius which was of course like heaven. Lol!!! Anyway, the inside of mine was totally awesome. There were a few big chambers with lots of statues made from salt, a few chapels also totally made from salt (one of it was really huge and that one was the most beautiful one) and there was the lake. Totally beatiful lake.
Third day, we went to Auschwitz Concentration Camp. It used to be the largest concentration camp in Europe. Very interesting. We had a tour guide from the center and probably because of that, the whole place seemed very interesting. Before the tour started, our tickets entitled us to watch a movie on the concentration camp where it showed the real footage of the times when the camp was liberated by the Red Army. We got to photos of what happened then, the pile of glasses collected from the Jews that were in the camp, shoes, brushes, and clothes. The most heartbreaking part, I would say, was the part where they housed the clothings of the little children, being the smallest was the clothing of a baby. All I can say was that the entrance fee was totally worth it. We got to see the inside of the gas chamber/crematorium, the starvation camp, the standing camp and the wall where thousands were being shot dead. We got to see the unloading platform where the sorting had taken place and the "dreadful" railway track that led into the Auschwitz Concentration Camp.
Overall, I think that Krakow was really worth visiting. For me, I think if I were to say that the number of days to finish Krakow, I would say that five days are enough. But, definitely, Krakow is really a city unique and packed with history.

Language Barrier
Ever felt the frustration of not being able to communicate with a person just, JUST because of the language barrier?
I had, and it was when I was travelling on the train to KRakow the other day. Well, at the beginning, me and Terri were like hoping of having the whole coach to ourselves on the train. And for the half an hour or the train, our hopes were crashed when two massive men walked in. Well, we were like thinking, "There goes our sleep!!!"
However, as the train moved, these two men were really very friendly. They offered us wine which of course we politely declined. Then they started talking to me. Apparently, I appeared to have more command in my Czech so they decided to just direct the conversation to just me.
Seriously, these two men were really very nice. At least one of the was. He kept on talking to me. Despite the err's and the huh's, we really had a conversation going on.
Then, suddenly, the warden told us that we had to go to another coach because apparently the train was going to split, with one part going to Slovakia and the other going to Krakow. Well, as our Czech was totally limited, we couldn't understand. But, after much explaination by the guy in the same coach, we finally got a bit of idea. And the guy was really a gentleman, he helped me carry the luggage and helped us to look for empty coach for us on the part of the train that was heading towards Krakow.
When we found the coach, the guy helped me lifted my luggage to the compartment where you put the luggage and made sure that we're settled, then he left. In the coach again, we met really nice people again. After that incident, I seriously realised how blessed we were because of the nice people we met on the train. Really praise the Lord!!!

Test subject: I should name the test subject just A.
Subject matter: Human Studies
After years of studying this particular test subject, A, I've come to a conclusion that some people tend to find association with someone they cling on to in matters that they think they couldn't afford to lose to anybody.
Example:
Situation 1: Changing the transport pass
Place: In a metro
Dialogue:
Me: Have you changed your transport pass to the Opencard?
A: No. Because I thought that students don't have to.
Me: I see. I think it's still better to change though.
A: Yes. B has done it, I was supposed to go with her the other day but I didn't.
Me: Oh.
A: Have you changed yours?
(Take note: I did mention that I've gone to change before this."
Me: Yeah. I'm just waiting for them to send me the card now.
A: Aaa... Yes, B is also waiting for her card to arrive also.(A's expression: Like she's just won something)
(Note: Duh...of course, B's still waiting cause she did later than me and I was the one who told her the whole procedure and apparently A thought that she's more advanced than I am)
So, from this situation, I concluded that Test Subject A is trying to find her own value by taking other people's doing as her own.
And another conclusion that I've come up with this test subject is that she's very arrogant to admit that she got to know about certain stuffs after anyone else even though the other person was the one who actually introduced the certain stuffs to her.
Situation 2: Knowing about a certain band
Venue: On the way to some place
So I introduced this certain singer whom i've found out about on the internet to Test Subject A.
A: I've just found out this singer who's singing cover on Youtube. The name is...
B: Ah really?
(The only comment I can give about this B is that she's rather naive and ignorant)
A: Oh, this singer is really nice. I keep on listening to him.
Me: Oh, the one I introduced to you?
A: NO. I discovered him myself one.
And after such a long time studying this test subject, I've also come to a conclusion that some people cannot accept their own mistakes and when they realise they have made any mistake, they'll tend to have amnesia and forget that they've made the mistake and completely overturn what they have said previously
Situation 3: Comments about a certain acquaintance
Venue: Every where (as it happened too often, I couldn't exactly pinpoint the venue and time. And because of this, just a small portion of dialogue will be provided)
Me: I thought you said that he's (bla bla bla - quoting from A's previous speech)
A: Oh, i never said that. I always said that he's very nice bla bla bla...
Take note: Totally denial and while Test Subject A was saying this kind of things, her expression turned to the "innocent" face.
Conclusion: After much studying this test subject, I've classified her characteristics as that of a hypocrite.

A Father's Heart

"Which of the two did what the father wanted?" Matthew 21:31
I am a father, and I want my children to live in God's love. If they act wrongly, I don't wish harm on them. Instead, I want them to repent and choose God's way. I want them to be free, restored, and healthy, not damaged for life because of any of their misdeeds. I want them to personally know God, experience His unconditional love (Eph 3:19), and rejoice always in His abundant mercy. I take no pleasure in punishing my children. Yet when necessary I punish them because I want them to change their hearts, learn to do right, and walk humbly with God (Mi 6:8).
God is our Father (Mt 6:9; Is 64:7). How much more does God the Father love us, His children, than does a human parent! The Father shows great kindness in punishing us promptly for sins instead of allowing sinful behavior to linger and merit a more serious punishment later (2 Mc 6:13-15). He assures His repentant children: "On that day you need not be ashamed of all your deeds, your rebellious actions against Me" (Zep 3:11). Jesus presented the father of the prodigal son as a model of God the Father. This father did not constantly remind his returning son of his prior rebellion and wrongs; instead, the father saw only with eyes of love and welcome. The things of the past were forgotten; God made all things new, especially His restored relationship with His repentant children (see Is 43:18-19; see also Rv 21:5).
God wants all His family present at His Son's Christmas birthday, including His sinful, rebellious children. Do what the Father wants (Mt 21:31). Repent, do His will, and welcome His Son Jesus.

Totally smitten
And here I go again - another crap talking. But then again, isn't this my blog? So I can crap whatever shit I want now that I think about it. Hahaha...
Anyway, haih...what can I say? A few days of consecutively "exposed" to the charm of the guy I was talking about in my previous blogs totally left me smitten. Well, not exactly totally, but yeah, he's definitely one of the top 3 I-want-to-date-but-impossible guys on my list. Haih.... so sad....
Did I mention how charming his smile is? Well, today I've just seen some more of his smile and he's exactly like a model kinda thing. Foooh...
Anyway, the smitten part is of course not just because of this guy. Well, this afternoon when I was on my way out of the apartment, I met this cute little girl. I was letting her and her mother to pass through the door first, after which she looked up at me and gave me the biggest smile ever and said "Ahoj. Dobry den." So super cute!!!!! I totally melted then. The mother was smiling as well as she noticed how cute her daughter was.
Then, in the evening, while I was out in the Christmas Market with my friends, there was this kid that was just looking at me and was like taking unsteady baby steps towards me, in those thick winter jacket that totally made him looked like a ball. I think he's almost 3 or 4 years old. When I looked at him, he still continued to walk towards me before the father grabbed him and left. Lol!!! Probably I looked like some kind of food or what... Lol!!! But super cute!!!
It's because of these little things that really brightens up my day. I can never get enough of a kid's affection. They are just like little angels when they are totally just being themselves and give you the brightest smile ever without any motives behind their smile. They are just so genuine that it can be so surprising because you don't meet a lot of genuine people in this world. They're like the only innocent souls not tainted by the world. It's really wonderful isn't it?

Mcfly - That's the truth
Ok, enough crap about cute guys and all. Now it's time down to business. Well, not exactly business. It's more like another crap.
Anyway, I'm totally, TOTALLY, in love with Mcfly after listening to their newest album Above the Noise. There is a lot of nice songs in the album. They changed their style of singing and the songs are different from their previous songs. But still, I love them the same.
Well, anyway, there's this song called "That's the Truth" in the album, which at first didn't occur to me as like super nice until somehow my iPod kept on replaying it and when I really paid attention to the lyrics, foooh...it's like damn nice. It's about how a girlfriend suspected a boyfriend of cheating on her just because her friends told her so. Then the boyfriend (which will be the one singing the song) was saying stuffs like she should have trusted him more and that he shouldn't have to plead his case. The cool thing about this song is that the whole concept is about in a court kinda thing. Really cool. Anyway, back to the story. So, the guy was saying that now nothing's going to be saved but he just wanted to clear his name. Damn cool!!!!!

Well, anyway, there's this song called "That's the Truth" in the album, which at first didn't occur to me as like super nice until somehow my iPod kept on replaying it and when I really paid attention to the lyrics, foooh...it's like damn nice. It's about how a girlfriend suspected a boyfriend of cheating on her just because her friends told her so. Then the boyfriend (which will be the one singing the song) was saying stuffs like she should have trusted him more and that he shouldn't have to plead his case. The cool thing about this song is that the whole concept is about in a court kinda thing. Really cool. Anyway, back to the story. So, the guy was saying that now nothing's going to be saved but he just wanted to clear his name. Damn cool!!!!!

A fairytale prince????
Today when I went to the church where my friends go, I saw this guy who was singing in the choir. Well, actually, I do know this guy, just not really well enough. Basically we don't even greet each other kinda thing.
Anyway, he was wearing something with a formal shirt underneath a vest kinda clothes and he looked amazingly good-looking. I can't even begin to describe how charming he looked. I mean, seriously, he just looked so cool in the clothes.
Ah, when he smiled, it totally melt people's heart. Hahahahahaha....
Anyway, what I wanted to say was that he totally looked like a prince. With his tall stature and the sort of coolness (as in cool in fashion sense and in character wise as well), he just seemed totally like a typical Prince Charming (i must say, not the Prince Charming in the Shrek, mind you).
Haih...It's ironic to have someone so good-looking in your midst yet....So real compare to the celebrities yet....

New revelation
After watching a few videos about cancer patients these few days, like their expression when some of them received the news that their condition was terminal. It's like I can't even imagine the despair they must have felt.
I mean, seriously, after having the Psychotherapy and Psychology class or weekend the other weekend, I started thinking how the patients must have felt. Imagine, the inner struggle within them. The worries, the despair, the hopelessness....it's just totally unimaginable.
I'm just thinking. For some of those who have family, they must have felt even worse. I mean, they have to worry about how their family will feel and stuffs like that. Those who have small kids, they have to think about leaving their kids and so on. It must have been crazy. And worst thing is, they cannot do anything about it. They must have felt like totally helpless and hopeless. Seriously, it's crazy, man.
I seriously salute those patients who had learnt to accept their condition no matter how long they struggled, but definitely, they deserve respect. And I totally salute the doctors who have to deal and break the news to these patients. How strong they must have been.
After thinking about this, and listening to the song in my previous post, I realised how blessed I am. And despite how much struggle I have been through, God is right there for me, for everyone. I once read in a book, that sometimes we struggle too much, and we'll be thinking like why God was not there with us. The fact is, He was and is there every step of the way we've been through but we just don't realise it. And in this book that I read, because the little girl was kidnapped and was in total despair at the beginning, after she calmed down and realised that God was with her, she was not scared anymore.
And then, a question popped into my head. A question that shall remain unanswered. How do the atheist handle this kind of situation then?

"The" week
Seriously, this week has been like the most tiring week ever since I started school. I had microbiology block this week and every day my class started from 9am. Yeah, I know it's quite late, but the thing is, ever since the school year started, my normal sleeping hours have been at least nine hours and i would only get up at 9am. So, naturally, this week was like the hardest week for me.
Overall, I had fun in the course because there were some funny people in my group and it's really fun working with these people. And i had the chance of interacting with Erasmus student, which is of course really rare. And I got to know one of them which is from Germany better. She was really friendly, as in, as soon as she knew when was my birthday which had passed a few weeks ago, she came and gave me kisses. I mean, it just struck me the reality - I am in Europe. Lol!! Seriously, from time to time, I just have this kind of feeling - feeling of realisation that I am in Europe kinda thing. And it always come as a wander for me.
This morning we had snow fall. The snow flakes were incredibly large that it's like cotton falling off the sky. Super awesome view. The only not awesome things were when the flakes got into my eyes and the fact that I kept on slipping when I was walking to class.
As I was spending every morning in the lab, so i practically only have the afternoon and night for my preparation for my biochem exam. Because of that, I feel like I want to explode because of the amount of things i need to study in the limited time. And because I had to wake up early every morning, so I was sleeping my whole afternoon off to compensate for my lack of sleep every day. Haih....terrible, terrible week.
And now, I have to worry about going to church, worry that i might meet certain people whom I'm scared of. So pathetic....why can't my life just returned to how it was when I was in first year, when I really enjoyed going to church without having to worry about meeting people that I don't want to meet. Sad...sad thing really.

Prodigal Son
Today, when I was reading the bible Lk 15, there was a parable about the Prodigal Son. It's quite a famous parable.
It's about a father who has two sons. The younger son asked him to give him his share of property before his father even died. So, it was kinda taboo kinda thing that time. It means like as if he was cursing his father to death kinda thing. Anyway, the father just agreed and gave him according to what his wanted. So the second son after taking his inheritance moved away and spent all his money on different things until he was broke and had to work as attendant to pigs. Ok, long story short, anyway, the point was that he eventually returned to his father. Best thing was, when he went back to his father, the father was actually waiting for him in front of the house every single day, waiting for the return of his lost son. When the second son returned, the father threw for him a celebration for he was glad that his lost son was found.
So, I was thinking, how many times my Heavenly Father gave me the freedom and I misused the freedom and kept on sinning against Him. Sad, isn't it? I misused His trust and everything. But, I'm so so super blessed that He's always standing at the door, waiting to receive me when I turn back towards him.
However, this is not the main point i wanted to say about. I was thinking that probably when God addressed this parable, He was addressing to someone else as well. As many know, Satan was in fact once God's beloved angel before Satan decided to turn against God and got sent down to hell. So I was thinking, probably God is also waiting for Satan to repent and return to HIM?

Then, just now, when we were having Thanksgiving Dinner over at Pastor Gareth's place, we were reading this bible passage, with everyone a verse to read out loud. And guess what? When it was my turn, I had to read the verse "Nothing is impossible with God" - Luke 1:37.
After I read it, it just kept on resound in my head. Then I thought about it. Probably I should just take my exam in winter. I know God will make all things possible for me.
The other day, when I got to know about my options of taking exam in winter, i was like totally in utter confusion about it. Then, on the following Sunday, when I was in church and praying for an answer, then suddenly there's this thought like "i must take it in winter" kinda thought. After that, I was like kinda shocked because for sure it was not me who was thinking like that. Then, after that, something someone said in the previous bible study kept on resounding in my head - "God will provide". Somehow, I know that I just should take it in winter then.

I was nearly lost, nearly lost myself in my struggle to get through my fall on my own. While I was trying to climb up on my own, I've forgotten to lean on HIM. It was as if I'm trying to get myself up after falling into a sandpit - the more I struggle, the deeper I sink. But He found me, like He always does, just before I sank any deeper.
I was blinded by my own suffering that I didn't see how much He has done for me while I was suffering. Too absorbed in my own pain, that I didn't even realise that I was too blind to see that I was just struggling for nothing. But HE sent people to me, to help me see the marvellous works that HE has done for me.
Awesome Wonder
It's always an awe for me when I just realise how can God love me so much, how much He care for me even though I'm just one in billions of HIS people. Yet, despite how busy HE should be with everyone, HE still gives me HIS undividing attention and love. Isn't it a wonder?
Anyway, the reason I'm saying these things is not that I'm trying to preach but just want to find a way to channel my excitement and pride of being so loved by Him, the Almighty One.
In just a few days, God showed me how much He really cares for me. He always creates the most happiness and encouragement out of every single little thing for me.
Today I was being reaffirmed again and again when He chose to talk to me in places. I received a card from a friend and there were words of encouragement and bible verses which just somehow lifted my spirit. And when I was reading the bible, I was really beaming when I realised what I was reading actually happened to be what I was talking about the past few days - learning to appreciate the present times and not to worry but just trust in HIM. It's totally amazing!!!
Oh my goodness, how blessed am I to have HIM to arrange so many friends and incidents to encourage me and comfort me!!!
For when I am weak, I am strong 2 Corinthians 12:10
Seriously, if I haven't been hurt and been thrown to the very bottom, I would never have seen just how powerful He is and how magnificent and perfect HIS love and plans are.
